Storage Interface
FCI offers a wide range of connector options to support the various industry-standard interfaces between storage drives and the backplane or drive carrier boards commonly used in server and storage systems.

The industry-standard interfaces for server and storage applications cover Serial Attached SCSI (SAS), Serial ATA (SATA), and FibreChannel drives.

FCI also offer Slimline SATA connectors for Optical Disk Drive, Micro SATA connectors for 1.8” HDD (Hard Disk Drive) or SSD (Solid State Drive) form factors, eSATA connectors for high speed connection for external storage and also a range of connectors for iVDR (Information Versatile Disk for Removable usage) standard connectors.

FCI has been a leading supplier for the storage industry, and will continually to develop new connector solutions for new high speed application or new interface standards.

  • 29-Position SAS solutions under SFF-8482 HDD interface.

Serial-ATA (SATA) Connectors

  • Used in servers, storage blades, backplanes, HDD carrier boards and HDD.
  • 22-Position SATA solution with a signal port (7 contacts / port).

 SCA-2 Connectors System

  • Used in servers, HDDs and storage backplanes.
  • SCA-2 interface for up to 4 Gb/s, under SFF-8451.
  • Enhanced SCA-2 interface for up to 8.5 Gb/s, under SFF-8454.
eSATA Connectors

  • For external storage connection to PC, consumer electronics and entry servers.
  • Support up to 3 Gb/s data rates.
  • Also available eSATA/USB (2-in-1), and eSATA/USB (2-in-1) + USB combo type.
 
iVDR Connectors

  • Used for home recorder, set-top box, PC, server, TV, automobile.
  • Connects a host system & an iVDR media cartridge (HDD or SSD).
Micro SATA Connectors

  • Used in Notebook, sub-notebook, external storage, set-top box, game console.
  • For 1.8" SATA drives (HDD or SSD).
Slimline SATA Connectors

  • Interface for Optical Disk Drive (ODD) system
