Gases vent automatically and away from user:
The Burndy WEJTAP™ installation tool safely and automatically releases any residual gases forward (away from the user) during tool "back-off" and removal from the installed connector.
Numerous, redundant safety mechanisms:
The Burndy WEJTAP™ tool is of a rim-fire design with a recessed firing pin located in the rear of the tool body. In order to actuate the firing process, the tool must necessarily be correctly positioned and tightened on the connector with 20 lbs of force exerted against the ram in order to depress the breech pad and expose the firing pin. As such, it is virtually impossible to inadvertently actuate the firing process prior to planned connector installation.
Recessed, brass powder cell:
The brass power cell utilized in the Burndy booster prevents hot gases from interacting directly with heat-sensitive components significantly lowering the possibility of a fracture of the nylon power booster casing.
